The Department of Health, DOH Pre-Service Scholarship 2023-2024 is open to apply for all eligible and interested Filipinos. The aim of DOH Pre-Service Scholarship program is to provide accessibility to quality health care services by the poor, marginalized and vulnerable sectors of the Philippines.

The DOH Pre-Service Scholarship 2023 is available for students in Medical Technology, Pharmacy and Diploma in Midwifery. With the help of DOH scholarship, the Department of Health’s priority areas will have an adequate supply of service-oriented human resources for the health care field.

Benefits of DOH Pre-Service Scholarship

Following are the benefits of DOH Pre-Service Scholarship in Medical Technology, Pharmacy and Diploma in Midwifery

Diploma in Midwifery Scholarship Benefits

Students who receive Scholarship for Diploma in Midwifery will get a Total Annual Allowance of ₱235,200 as benefits which are as follows:

• Tuition Fees – ₱50,000
• Book Allowances – ₱20,000
• For Uniform – ₱6,000
• Miscellaneous Expenses – ₱14,000
• Living expenses – ₱67,200
• For Board and Lodging – ₱60,000
• Transportation expenses – ₱18,000
• Return Service: The Scholars are required to perform one (1) year of return service in DOH identified priority areas for each year of scholarship received.

Medical Technology and Pharmacy Scholarship Benefits

Students who receive Scholarship for Medical Technology and Pharmacy will receive a Total Annual Allowance of ₱267,200 as benefits which are as follows:

• Tuition Fees – ₱80,000
• Book Allowances – ₱22,000
• For Uniform – ₱6,000
• Miscellaneous Expenses – ₱14,000
• Living expenses – ₱67,200
• For Board and Lodging – ₱60,000
• Transportation expenses – ₱18,000
• Return Service: The Scholars are required to perform one (1) year of return service in DOH identified priority areas for each year of scholarship received.

DOH Pre Service Scholarship Eligibility

Following is the eligibility criteria required to apply for the Scholarship:

1. The candidate must be a Filipino citizen
2. Applicant must have a good moral character
3. He or She must be a Graduate of secondary education (high school or senior high school whichever is applicable)
4. Preference shall be given to applicants from:
   • Low income families background
   • Geographically isolated disadvantaged municipalities/ provinces or from top 20 poorest provinces/municipalities/cities
   • Indigenous communities/minority sectors
   • Children/dependents of government employees, victims of calamity/tragedy, police/military injured/fatally wounded while on duty, Barangay Health Workers/traditional birth attendants/with chronic diseases

How to Apply for DOH Pre-Service Scholarship?

All Applicants interested in applying for the DOH Pre-Service Scholarship 2023 for Medical Technology, Pharmacy, and Midwifery should contact the local DOH Centers for Health Department from the list above.

Application Process

The DOH Pre-Service Scholarship 2023 application process will take place in two stages, which are explained as follows:

Initial Screening

• Students must apply directly to their preferred DOH Partner School and must meet the minimum qualifications / criteria as discussed above.
• Only those admitted to the partner schools are eligible to apply for the DOH Scholarship.

Final Screening

• Evaluation, Validation and Approval of accepted applicants by the concerned CHD based on set criteria.
• Successful Scholars will be notified by the Scholarship Coordinators of the Partner Schools.
