The Gabay Guro Scholarship program is initiated by PLDT Smart Foundation to help Filipinos pursue their education. This Gabay Guro program aims to uplift the lives of the teachers in the Philippines through livelihood projects and scholarship.

Under this Scholarship Program, over 2,800 scholarship grants has been given in various state colleges and universities nationwide. 59% or more than 800 of which have graduated.

Gabay Guro Scholarship 2023

The Gabay Guro Scholarship program is inviting students to apply for this Scholarship. The PLDT Smart Foundation Gubay Guro Scholarship is open to all officially enrolled 1st-year students of the College of Education majors in English, Math, and Science.

Gubay Guro Scholarship is partnered with over 47 universities and colleges nationwide. Students who are enrolled in these partner schools can also apply for scholarship.

Scholarship Benefits

Students will get Tuition fees coverage as the scholarship benefits.

Eligibility for scholarship

Following is the eligibility criteria required to apply for the scholarship:

1. The candidate must be a Filipino Citizen;
2. Must be a Freshmen/FIRST YEAR student enrolled in Bachelor in Elementary Education or Bachelor of Secondary Education (must major in English, Science or Mathematics);
3. He or She must belong to families whose annual gross income is not more than Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Pesos (Php 250,000.00);
4. Should have obtained a GWA-General Weighted Average of at least 85% during the last year in high school;
5. The applicant must be of Good Moral Character; and
6. Must not be enjoying any other scholarships;

Requirements to Apply for scholarship

Following is the list of documents required to apply for scholarship:

1. Application Form
2. Undertaking Consent Form
3. Applicant’s essay on “My Autobiography”
4. Copy of Grade 11 and 12 Report Card
5. Income Tax Return, Certificate of Indigency, or any proof of income, and
6. 2×2 ID Picture
