Cebu Normal University Tulong Dunong Program 2026-2027

Cebu Normal University (CNU) opened a new round of the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) for A.Y. 2026-2027. It gives one-time financial aid of ₱7,500 to qualified students. The deadline was October 7, 2026, so this round has closed. I read CNU’s announcement from the Office of Scholarship Services (OSS) and put the requirements, the two-part submission, and the things it doesn’t say here, so you’ll be ready if another round opens.
Quick summary
- Program: Tulong Dunong Program (TDP), one-time financial assistance
- Amount: ₱7,500, one time
- Who: students officially enrolled at CNU
- Campuses: Alegria, Argao, Balamban, Catmon, Main, and Medellin
- Submission: online and onsite, both required
- Deadline: October 7, 2026 for both (closed)
Is the application open now?
No. CNU set October 7, 2026 as the deadline for both online and onsite submission, and today is October 16. The announcement doesn’t mention an extension, and I haven’t seen a new round, so I won’t guess about one. Check the official CNU page or the Office of Scholarship Services to see if anything has changed.
What are the scholarship benefits?
The announcement says TDP is one-time financial aid amounting to ₱7,500. It doesn’t say when or how the money is released.
CNU also notes that filing an application doesn’t automatically secure the grant. Final approval depends on evaluation by CHED-UniFAST and on fund availability.
Who can apply
According to the announcement, all students officially enrolled at CNU were encouraged to apply. You qualified if you:
- Were officially enrolled at CNU in one of these campuses: Alegria, Argao, Balamban, Catmon, Main, or Medellin
- Were not a recipient of any other private or government-funded scholarship or grant
If you applied for TES before: CNU says you could still apply for TDP as long as you were not currently receiving a TES grant. TES is CHED’s Tertiary Education Subsidy, in case the acronym is new to you.
The announcement doesn’t list a minimum grade, an income limit, or a year level.
Who should not apply
Save your time if any of these is true:
- You’re not officially enrolled at CNU
- You’re enrolled at a CNU campus that isn’t on the list above
- You currently receive a TES grant
- You already receive another private or government scholarship or grant
If you’re not sure whether something you receive counts, ask the Office of Scholarship Services before you apply.
Documents you needed
- Accomplished TDP Application Form (2026 version) with a 2×2 ID picture and a wet or fresh signature. It had to be printed on A4 paper. You could download it from the link in CNU’s post, or request a copy from the Office of Scholarship Services.
- Study Load for the 1st Semester, A.Y. 2026-2027, validated and signed by the Registrar. Documents from the Student Portal were not accepted. The request slip and releasing of study loads were at the Office of Scholarship Services, 3rd floor, TAC Building.
- Student’s Certificate of Indigency, with the purpose stated as “Tulong Dunong Program Application.”
Small details that can affect an application
- The certificate of indigency must be in the student’s name and carry the exact purpose wording above. Check the paper before you leave the barangay hall.
- A printout from the student portal is not a valid study load. It needs the Registrar’s validation and signature.
- “Wet signature” means you sign the printed form by hand. A typed or pasted signature doesn’t count.
How to submit
You had to submit both online and onsite.
1. Online submission (deadline: October 7, 2026)
Upload your complete requirements through the Google Form CNU provided: https://forms.gle/5RNWTpv2vBku75ct9
CNU’s formatting rules:
- Merge all documents into one PDF file
- Name the file using your full name, for example Dela Cruz, Juan P.
- Failure to follow these rules, or an incomplete submission, means the application will not be accepted
2. Onsite submission (deadline: October 7, 2026)
Submit your hard copies during your scheduled face-to-face classes.
- Main Campus: submit directly to the Office of Scholarship Services
- External campuses: you do not need to go to the Main Campus. Designated staff receive hard copies at your own campus.
During onsite submission, CNU says a short, quick interview is conducted.
The form is probably closed now. Only use links from CNU’s official post, and don’t send personal documents through any copy of the form that isn’t linked from there.
What happens after you apply
The announcement doesn’t describe the steps after submission, apart from the quick interview and the evaluation by CHED-UniFAST. It doesn’t say how or when results are announced, so ask the Office of Scholarship Services if you applied and haven’t heard anything.
Mistakes to avoid
- Submitting only online, or only onsite. Both were required.
- Using the student portal copy of your study load. It isn’t accepted.
- Missing the purpose on the certificate of indigency. It has to say “Tulong Dunong Program Application.”
- Not merging your files into one PDF, or naming it wrongly.
- Printing the form on the wrong paper size. It has to be A4.
- Waiting until the last day. The Registrar’s validation and the barangay certificate both take time.
How to get ready for the next round
- Follow CNU Scholarship Services on Facebook page so you see the next call early.
- Check that you’re not receiving TES or any other scholarship.
- Keep your enrollment records in order, so the Registrar can validate your study load quickly.
- Learn where to get a certificate of indigency in your barangay.
- Get a 2×2 ID picture and save a digital copy.
- Practice merging files into one PDF on your phone or computer.
