OWWA SCHOLARSHIP 2026 – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has extended the deadline for its Scholarship Online Application to Thursday, September 24, 2026.

Is the OWWA Scholarship Open for 2026-2027?
Yes. As of this writing, applications remain open for three scholarship programs under the extended deadline. Interested applicants whether OFWs themselves or their qualified dependents are encouraged to apply before their respective cutoff dates.
Who Is Eligible for the OWWA Scholarship?
OWWA offers three scholarship programs, each with its own eligibility requirements.
1. Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP)
A grant of up to ₱60,000 per school year until completion of a baccalaureate course (4-5 years). For incoming freshmen, only the top 1,000 qualifiers from the DOST national examinations are considered; 600 slots are reserved for those already in 2nd to 5th year college.
EDSP Category 1 (Incoming 1st Year College)
- Must be a child of an active OWWA member, or sibling of a single or married-but-childless active OWWA member
- No prior availment of any OWWA Scholarship Program by other family members
- Must be single and not more than 21 years old
- Must be a Grade 12 graduating student
- Must have a GWA of 80% or its equivalent
EDSP Category 2 (Already Enrolled, 2nd-5th Year College)
- Same family/availment/single status requirements
- Must not be more than 30 years old
- Must have a GWA of at least 85% with no failing grades
- Must be enrolled in a Philippine-based college or university
2. OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP)
Offers ₱20,000 per school year to qualified OFW dependents enrolled in a four-year, five-year, or associate course in the Philippines. The required OFW monthly salary threshold is set through a memorandum issued during each application period.
ODSP Category 1 (Incoming 1st Year College)
- Must be a child or sibling of an active OFW member, single, not more than 21 years old
- Must have a passing GWA from the previous school year
- OFW’s monthly income must not exceed USD 1,000 or its equivalent
- No prior availment by other family members
ODSP Category 2 (Already Enrolled, 2nd-5th Year College)
- Same family/single status requirements, not more than 30 years old
- Must have a passing GWA and be enrolled in a Philippine-based college/university
3. Congressional Migrant Workers Scholarship Program (CMWSP)
Provides up to ₱60,000 per school year for priority Science and Technology courses, funded through PCSO and maintained by OWWA.
- Open to active OFWs not more than 45 years old, or children of active/inactive OFWs below 21 years old
- GWA of 80% with no failing grades (or within top 20% of graduating class), and no failing grades for the OFW applicant
- Annual family gross income must not exceed $2,400 (₱76,000)
- Alternative Learning System (ALS) passers under the Accreditation and Equivalency Program are eligible with an average of at least 85%, as certified by a DepEd-accredited school
- No prior availment by other OFW family members
OWWA Scholarship Requirements
Across all three programs, applicants must prepare the following:
- Proof of Identity
- OFW: Copy of valid OFW Passport bio/info page
- Dependent: Valid School ID or any available valid ID, plus Birth Certificate or Baptismal Certificate
- Proof of Grades from the previous school year (Form 137/Form 10/TOR, Form 138/Report Card, or Certificate of Grades). Students who cannot present current or previous semester grades may submit grades from within the last two school years as reference.
- 2×2 ID Picture of the applicant (white background, with name tag and signature)
How to Apply for a OWWA Scholarship 2026?
- Go to the official application portal: scholarship.owwa.gov.ph
- Select your OWWA Regional Office from the list and click Proceed
- Affirm that all information provided is complete, true, and correct, then click Yes to continue
- Enter your active mobile number for OTP verification (you will be contacted through this number)
- Complete the CAPTCHA, choose to receive the OTP via SMS or email, and click Send OTP

- Do not submit multiple applications, as this can delay verification
