Privacy Notice
This page explains what information Scholarships PH collects, why I collect it, and what you can do about it. I tried to keep it short and easy to read.
Who runs this site
Scholarships PH is a website at scholarshipsph.com run by Lalith Jain. I post scholarship listings and tips, and I also manage a Facebook page. If you have any questions about this notice, email me at hello@scholarshipsph.com.
What I collect
What you send me. If you email me, I get your name, your email address, and whatever you write in your message. Please don’t send anything private that I don’t need, like ID numbers or passwords.
What your browser shares. When you visit the website, I may see things like your IP address, browser, device, which pages you opened, and how long you stayed. Most websites collect this automatically.
Cookies. The site uses cookies to remember your settings, to see which pages people use most, and to show ads (see the next section). You can turn cookies off in your browser. The site should still work, though some things may not.
Facebook. If you follow, like, or comment on my page, Facebook has that information, and Facebook’s privacy policy covers it. I can see your public name and what you post on the page. I don’t see your private account details.
Ads on our website
I use Google AdSense to show ads on scholarshipsph.com. The ads help me keep the site free.
- Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to show ads based on your past visits to this site and to other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
- I don’t give Google your name or email. The ad cookies and the data they collect are handled by Google and its partners, and their privacy policies cover that.
- You can turn off personalized ads at Google’s Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com). You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ cookies at aboutads.info.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You may still see ads, but they won’t be based on your interests.
To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, check Google’s own privacy page.
Why I collect it
- To answer your emails
- To fix mistakes on the site
- To see which scholarship posts people read so I can post more helpful ones
- To show ads that help pay for the website
- To keep the website working and secure
Who I share it with
I don’t sell your personal information. I only share it with the services that help me run the website, like my hosting provider, analytics tools, and Google AdSense, and only what they need to provide their services.
Links to other websites
My scholarship posts link to websites run by schools, companies, and organizations. Ads on the site may also link to other websites. I don’t control them and I’m not responsible for how they handle your information. Please read their privacy policy before you submit your details or apply.
How long I keep it
I keep your emails only as long as I need them to help you or to keep a record of what was fixed. Then I delete them. Cookies from Google and other ad partners stay on your device for as long as they are set to, unless you delete them first.
Keeping your information safe
I do what I can to protect your information, but no website is 100% safe. Please also keep in mind that regular email isn’t secure, so don’t send anything sensitive.
Changes
I may update this notice from time to time. When I do, I’ll change the date below, so check back once in a while.
