DigiPlus FutureSmart College Scholarship 2026-2027: Who Can Apply, What to Prepare, and a 17-Day Plan
₱100,000 for 4th-year IT and Communications students. Deadline is October 24, 2026. See who qualifies, what to prepare, and a day-by-day plan.

If you’re a 4th-year IT or Communications student, the DigiPlus Foundation FutureSmart College Scholarship is open until October 24, 2026. As I write this, that’s 16 days away. I read through the official FutureSmart page and DigiPlus Foundation’s Facebook announcement, and in this post I explain what they mean, what they don’t say, and how to use your time. I also emailed DigiPlus with the questions the page doesn’t answer, and I’ll add their reply here when I get it.
Quick summary
- Who: 4th-year students in IT or Communications programs
- Benefit: ₱100,000 in educational support per school year, released monthly
- Slots: 300 new scholars this cycle
- Open: September 24 to October 24, 2026
- Income limit: parents or guardians earn ₱40,000 or less combined per month
- Grades: GWA of at least 85% (or equivalent) in AY 2025-2026
This is a one-time chance
The scholarship is only for 4th-year students. If you’re a 3rd-year student, you can’t apply this year, and by the time you’re in 4th year the rules may be different. If you’re a 4th-year student now, this cycle is your only opportunity. That’s a good reason not to wait for the last week.
Check these before you spend time on documents
The official page lists six requirements, but a few of them need a closer look.
1. “4th-year student.” If your program is five years long, such as some engineering courses, the page doesn’t say whether your 4th year counts. If you’re in that situation, email DigiPlus before you apply.
2. “GWA of at least 85% or equivalent.” Schools grade differently. Many use a 1.0 to 5.0 scale, and the equivalent of 85% is not the same everywhere. Ask your registrar what 85% is in your school’s grading system, and ask for a written or printed copy of your grades that shows it.
3. “Combined gross monthly income of ₱40,000 or below.” That’s about ₱480,000 a year before deductions. Add up what your parents or guardians earn together, using gross income, not take-home pay. The page doesn’t explain how irregular income is counted, such as freelance work, small business income, or money sent by a family member abroad. If your family’s income isn’t a fixed salary, ask DigiPlus how they want it documented.
4. “Good moral character and leadership potential.” The page doesn’t say how this is checked. Think about your school or community activities, such as org roles, volunteer work, and projects, in case they ask.
5. Your program. The list says “other IT-related” and “other Communications-related” programs are also accepted. If your course name isn’t on the list, ask first instead of assuming.
Who should not apply
Save your time if any of these is true:
- You’re in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year
- You’re not in an IT or Communications-related program
- Your parents or guardians earn more than ₱40,000 a month combined
- Your GWA is below 85% (or the equivalent at your school)
- You’re not a Filipino citizen living in the Philippines
If you’re close on one of these, such as your income being just over the limit, ask DigiPlus before deciding. Don’t change your documents to fit.

What the ₱100,000 means
DigiPlus says scholars get ₱100,000 in educational support per school year, released monthly. The official page doesn’t say how many months or what the monthly amount is. For example, if it were spread over 10 months, that would be ₱10,000 a month, but that’s my own math, not DigiPlus’s number. Don’t plan your budget around it until DigiPlus confirms.
Scholars also get programs for soft skills, leadership, and workplace readiness. The scholarship doesn’t promise a job. Scholars can apply to DigiPlus Interactive Corp. and its affiliated companies, but they go through the normal hiring process.
A note on the numbers: the page says DigiPlus gives scholarships to 300 students every year, but it also shows “94+” FutureSmart College Scholars. That suggests the college program is still growing, or that the 300 is a target for this cycle. DigiPlus says it “aims to award” 300 slots, so don’t treat 300 as a guarantee.
Documents you need
- Latest income tax return or payslip of employed household members, or a certificate of indigency (whichever applies to you)
- Enrollment form or school registration form
- Proof of your latest grades (last 2 semesters, AY 2025-2026)
The slowest ones are usually the certificate of indigency (barangay) and your grades (registrar). Start those first.
A 17-day plan
Days 1-3 (October 8-10): Request the slow documents
- Ask your registrar for your grades for the last 2 semesters, and ask what 85% equals in your grading system
- If you need a certificate of indigency, go to your barangay
- Email DigiPlus if you have a question about your program, income, or year level
Days 4-6 (October 11-13): Collect the rest
- Get your enrollment form or school registration form
- Collect payslips or ITRs from working household members
- Scan or photograph everything clearly
Days 7-9 (October 14-16): Check and organize
- Make sure names, dates, and school details match on every document
- Name your files clearly, for example LastName_Grades_AY2025-2026.pdf
- Write down your school activities and leadership roles
Days 10-12 (October 17-19): Apply
- Open the application link, fill out the form, and upload your documents
- Submit at least a week before the deadline in case the site is slow or something needs fixing
Days 13-17 (October 20-24): Backup time
- Keep your phone and email open for a call, text, or email from DigiPlus
- Use these days only for fixes, not for starting
Mistakes to avoid
- Waiting until October 23 or 24. DigiPlus says late or incomplete submissions won’t be accepted.
- Uploading blurry or cropped documents. Incomplete submissions are rejected.
- Using take-home pay instead of gross income. The page asks for gross.
- Missing the follow-up. DigiPlus says it will contact you by email, SMS, or call to validate your application, so use a phone number and email you actually check.
- Ignoring spam. Check your spam folder for emails from DigiPlus.
What happens after you apply
DigiPlus Foundation will contact you to check your details and give you the next steps. Results will be posted on DigiPlus Foundation’s social media pages. DigiPlus doesn’t say when results will come out, so follow their Facebook page.

Questions I asked DigiPlus
The official page doesn’t answer these, so I emailed DigiPlus Foundation on October 8, 2026 at 11:10 AM:
- Does a 4th-year student in a 5-year program qualify?
- For how many months is the ₱100,000 released, and how much is each release?
- How should irregular income, like freelance or OFW support, be documented?
- When are results expected?
Update: As of October 8, 2026, I haven’t received a reply. I’ll update this post when I do.
