Senator Tito Sotto Tuition Fee Scholarship 2026-2027: Requirements and How to Apply

Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III’s Tuition Fee Scholarship Program is for 3rd and 4th-year college students with a GWA of at least 85% (or 2.00) and no failing grades. The 2026-2027 application has closed. The deadline was August 15, 2026.

I read the Senator’s Facebook announcement and put the requirements, the application steps, and the things it doesn’t say here, so you’ll be ready if a new round opens.

Quick summary

  • Program: Senator Vicente C. Sotto III’s Tuition Fee Scholarship Program, in its 2nd year for SY 2026-2027
  • Who: 3rd and 4th-year college students
  • School: currently enrolled in a CHED-recognized institution
  • Grades: previous GWA of at least 85% or 2.00, with no failing grades
  • Application: online, through a Google Form
  • Deadline: August 15, 2026 (closed)

Is the application open now?

No. The announcement says the deadline was August 15, 2026, and it’s now October 11. The post lists the application period as starting July 4, but the text I copied was garbled, so check the original post for the exact start date.

I haven’t seen an announcement for a new round, so I won’t guess when one might open. The announcement calls this the program’s 2nd year, which suggests it has run before, but that’s my reading, not a promise that it will continue.

What the announcement says

The Senator’s post describes it as a tuition fee scholarship. That is all it says about the benefit. It doesn’t give an amount, say how many scholars are chosen, or say how the tuition is paid, so don’t trust any site that gives a number without a source.

Who can apply

According to the announcement, you could apply if you:

  1. Are a 3rd or 4th-year college student
  2. Are currently enrolled in a CHED-recognized institution
  3. Have a previous GWA of at least 85% or 2.00, with no failing grades

The post lists no income limit, no age limit, and no residency rule. It also doesn’t say whether the scholarship is open nationwide, so I can’t confirm that either way.

What “85% or 2.00” means for you

Schools grade differently, and the two numbers are written on opposite scales. 85% is a percentage, where higher is better. 2.00 is on the 1.0 to 5.0 scale many schools use, where lower is better. The announcement treats them as equal, but your school’s own conversion may differ. Ask your registrar what your GWA is on the scale your school uses, and ask for a printed copy that shows it. The post also says “previous GWA” without saying which semester or school year, so ask the Senator’s office if that matters for you.

Who should not apply

Save your time if any of these is true:

  • You’re in 1st or 2nd year, or you’ve already graduated
  • Your school is not CHED-recognized
  • Your GWA is below 85% (or 2.00) or you have a failing grade
  • You’re not currently enrolled

If you’re close on one of these, ask the Senator’s office before deciding. Don’t change your records to fit.

How the application worked

The application was online, through a Google Form linked in the Senator’s Facebook post:

Application form from the announcement

The form is probably closed now, and I can’t confirm whether it still accepts answers. Don’t send personal information through any copy of this form that isn’t linked from the official announcement.

What happens after you apply

According to the announcement:

  • Every application is subject to screening, verification, review, and deliberation by the scholarship committee
  • Shortlisted candidates are notified by email
  • Incomplete information will not be processed

Applying doesn’t guarantee a scholarship. If you apply in a future round, use an email address you check every day, and look in your spam folder too.

What the announcement doesn’t say

  • The amount of the scholarship, or what the tuition coverage includes
  • How many scholars are chosen
  • Which documents, if any, are uploaded with the form
  • Whether it’s open to students nationwide
  • Which school year the scholarship covers after the first one
  • Whether scholars must keep a certain grade
  • The next application dates

Mistakes to avoid

  • Leaving fields blank. The announcement says incomplete information won’t be processed.
  • Using an email you don’t check. Shortlisted candidates are notified by email.
  • Rounding your grades up. Use the exact figure from your school’s record.
  • Waiting for the last day. Forms can be slow when many students apply at once.
  • Trusting unofficial copies of the form. Use only the link from the Senator’s official post.

How to get ready for the next round

  1. Check your GWA and ask your registrar for its equivalent on both scales.
  2. Make sure you have no failing grades on record.
  3. Confirm that your school is CHED-recognized.
  4. Set up an email address you check daily.
  5. Follow the Senator’s official Facebook page so you see the next announcement early.
