OWWA has recently launched its OFW Dependent Scholarship Program 2023. All eligible candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for OFW Dependent Scholarship for the school year 2023-2024.
The OFW Dependent Scholarship Program offered by OWWA is open to all Filipinos who are OFW dependents – the siblings or children of Overseas Filipino Workers.

OFW Dependent Scholarship Program
The OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) is one of the scholarship program offered to OFWs by the OWWA. This scholarship program is open to dependents of active OWWA members who are enrolled or planning to enroll in any 4-year or 5-year baccalaureate course at any college or university. Any OFW dependent who is currently a OWWA member may can apply for this scholarship.
OWWA means Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, OWWA is a group that takes care of the welfare and well-being of the Filipinos who are working abroad. The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration offers a variety of insurance options, educational opportunities, and scholarship opportunities to the Filipino workers and their dependents.

The benefits of OFW Dependent scholarship program 2023 are as follows:
- OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) provides a financial aid of Php 20,000.00 per academic year.
- OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) is open to all eligible Filipinos who shall enroll, are currently enrolled or have been previously enrolled in any four-year or five-year baccalaureate course or associate course in any college or university.
Eligibility Criteria
The OFW Dependent Scholarship Program (ODSP) provides Scholarships for the qualified dependents of OFWs whose salary is less than US $600.00 per month.
Following are some additional requirements a candidate must fulfil to apply for ODSP scholarship:
Incoming Freshmen (1st year college)
- The applicant must be a child of an active OWWA member or a sibling of a single active OWWA member.
- The applicant must be Single.
- He or She must be Grade 11 graduate (Incoming Grade 12 / currently enrolled as Grade 12).
- He or She must not be more than 21 years old.
- He or She must not be receiving any other scholarships.
Already enrolled in 2nd year to 5th year in college
- He or She must be a child of an active OWWA member or a sibling of a single active OWWA member.
- He or She must not be more than 30 years old.
- He or She must have a passing grade
- He or She must not be receiving any other scholarships.

List of Documentary Requirements
Following is the list of documents required to apply for OWWA ODSP scholarship:
- The Scholarship Application Form – OWWA RWO (Regional Welfare Office)
- Proof of OFW – OFW Membership Record – OWWA RWO (Regional Welfare Office)
- Picture I.D. with Name Tag – 2pcs.
- At least one (1) valid I.D. of the OFW and/or the Authorized Representative issued by Government or Company Issued I.D.
- Proof of Relationship to OFW Member i.e. Birth Certificate from PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority) or LCR (Local Civil Registrar)
- OFW Birth Certificate, if dependent is sibling
- OFW Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR, if single)
- Dependent’s Birth Certificate
- Dependent’s Form 137 / Certified True Copy of Form 138 / Transcript of Records (TOR) issued by School Registrar indicating 80% GWA without failing grades
- Other Special Requirements (WAIVED DUE TO PANDEMIC): School Registrar or Authorized School Officer/Faculty, Any competent Medical Practitioner from public or private medical institution/facility
- Certificate of Good Moral by School Registrar or Authorized School Officer/Faculty
- Medical Certificate i.e. Physically Fit to attend school if student has a medical pre-condition/s by any competent Medical Practitioner from public or private medical institution/facility.

Online Method
- Visit the Online Scholarship portal and fill our the form, from here: https://forms.gle/ME4pWdEQBcvyJjCy7
- Fill the form completely, review all details and submit the form
- After submitting the form, it will be evaluated and the result will be communicated to you through email / contact number / FB messenger.
- The scholarship program is on a first-come-first-serve basis depending upon the number of slots available. So, once your application is approved, you will receive a notification saying you have successfully secured a scholarship slot in ODSP.
- After you receive the notification, you should attend the scholarship orientation and signing of scholarship agreement will take place.

- Complete the form to the best of your knowledge.
- Complete all of the documentation specifications.
- Submit all documents to the OWWA Regional Welfare Office or via online.
- Wait for the call from OWWA if you are in the applicants slot.

NOTE: Please note that there is NO Qualifying examination; slots are allocated for Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.
